Finding A Good Spot For Your Inflatable Air Bed
A large number of people have been led to believe that inflatable air beds can be stored in just about any location – given that the location is able to accommodate a traditional mattress. It is unfortunate that what these people have been told is of an untrue nature. Despite what you may have heard, a location which can accommodate a standard mattress will not always be able to house an air bed. Without a proper environment, an air bed is more susceptible to sustaining damage, and thus failing.
The first thing you should be on the lookout for as you’re selecting a location for your air bed is nearby sources of heat. Inflatable air beds and high temperatures don’t go together. If your air bed is exposed to excessive heat for prolonged periods of time, chances are good that parts of its exterior will begin to warp. While the bed will still remain functional, it will become far more prone to leaks. If the heat exposure is neglected for long enough, the bed might burst upon the slightest application of pressure.
Next on the list of things to look out for is the location’s accessibility to pets. Air beds and pets don’t interact well with one another. Since pets enjoy clawing and biting whatever they can get a hold of, they pose a significant risk to the well-being of your air bed. Thus, you should attempt to locate your bed in an area that allots your pet limited accessibility.
Flooring should also be a major concern while scoping out an area for your air bed. Unlike standard mattresses, air beds cannot be placed on coarse or highly uneven flooring. With this in mind, care should be taken to find an appropriate underlying surface for the bed. We recommend placing your inflatable air bed in a room that has carpet flooring. Those with lustrous floors should also take appropriate preventative action to ensure that their air bed has minimal chances of sliding.
Finally, you want to avoid putting your air bed in a space that has no access to electrical outlets or very little moving room. Since many newer air beds come equipped with an automatic pump, they require the use of an electric outlet. Those that have an air bed which uses a manual pump should ensure that there is sufficient room around the bed to maneuver the pump. Failure to provide for either the outlet or sufficient moving room can create major problems.
We wish you the best of luck in choosing an optimal location for your inflatable air bed. Using the information above, we are confident that you’ll be able to select a functional and appropriate space to enjoy your new bed! If we have failed to touch on anything you feel could negatively affect the condition of your air bed, we encourage you to contact the bed’s manufacturer. The manufacturer should be able to provide further information on considerations to be taken while selecting a spot for your air bed.
